Installation on Windows Vista and Windows 7

Some users experienced problems with the installation on Windows Vista and Windows 7 operating systems. This article describes the required steps for a clean installation on these operating systems.
Installing the Java-Runtime-Environment
- In general there is no Java availavle on regular installations of Windows.
- You can download Java for free at Sun/Oracle.
Downloading OpenEstate-ImmoTool
- Every registered user may download OpenEstate-ImmoTool for free.
- Please register yourself for an user account first.
- After your login, you can find our available application in the download area.
- After you have requested your license-key, you can download either the EXE-installer-package or the ZIP-archive.
Installing OpenEstate-ImmoTool
You can install OpenEstate-ImmoTool either via EXE-installer or alternatively via ZIP-archive.
Installing via EXE-installer
- Open the directory, where you have stored the downloaded EXE-file.
- Execute the installation program via double-click at OpenEstate-ImmoTool-0.9.12.2-Setup.
- The installation program will start and lead you through the rest of the installation process.
- Note: The installation program is executed with regular user privileges.
- You can't install the application into 'C:\Program Files' without administrator privileges.
- In this case, please select a different directory to install the application, e.g. 'Desktop' or 'My Documents'.
- After a successful installation, you will find shortcuts in your Startmenu and/or on your Desktop.

Installing via ZIP-archive
- Open the directory, where you have stored the downloaded ZIP-archive.
- Click on the ZIP-archive with right mouse-button and select Extract all...
- You can use the following window to choose the destination directory. Select the location, where you want to store the program files, e.g. 'Desktop' or 'My Documents'.
- After you have started the extraction, the files will be stored into the selected folder. Open this directory in your Windows Explorer.
- You can start the application by double-click on the ImmoTool-symbol (ImmoTool.exe).
- Of course, you can create a shortcut to this file on your desktop.
